Education
Education is vital to improve the livelihoods of those living in sub-Saharan Africa. While gorta does not focus on primary education, through the provision of agriculture training and skills development, agriculture practices can be improved to further the food security of households and communities.
gorta has a long standing history with supporting vocational training, entrepreneurial skills and income-generating activities. We recognise the importance of linking farmers with trained extension workers and facilitiaing the transfer of knowledge with regard to farming practices. Our overall objective is to strengthen the resources and capabilities of communities to ensure long-term sustainable development. gorta also supports access to appropriate technology, including infrastructural projects which may complement the overall programme areas.
