Gorta Signs Up 200 Restaurants for ‘Soup for Life’ 2012
Gorta – the Freedom from Hunger Council of Ireland this week announced its partnership with ‘Love Irish Food’ for its annual ‘Soup for Life’ campaign, at an event in Dublin’s Mansion House. The event, which was hosted by Lord Mayor Andrew Montague, was attended by many of Ireland’s best known restaurateurs and foodies and formally launched Gorta’s ‘Soup for Life’ campaign in Dublin. Eat it, Drink it, Slurp it - and help Make Hunger History!
Food entrepreneurs, Cully & Sully today joined Gorta – the Freedom from Hunger Council of Ireland to announce that National Soup Week will run from March 5 -11 next. ‘Soup for Life’, Gorta’s annual fundraising campaign encourages people to get out and sip some soup to help make hunger history. Gorta and Restaurants Launch National Soup Week: 5th-11th March 2012
Celebrity chef, Derry Clarke of L’Ecrivain restaurant (Dublin) today joined Gorta – the Freedom from Hunger Council of Ireland to announce that National Soup Week will run from March 5-11 next. The Restaurants Association of Ireland (RAI) is also encouraging people to support the campaign at participating restaurants nationwide. During the week, people can also run ‘Soup for Life’ events at home; in the workplace or in clubs, schools and colleges. Gorta CEO welcomes selection of Co. Louth Venue for 2012 National Famine Commemoration

Give Your Unwanted Christmas Gifts to Gorta
Gorta – the Freedom of Hunger Council of Ireland has appealed to the Irish public to donate their unwanted Christmas gifts to any of their ten charity shops across Ireland - located in Cork, Dublin, Carlow, Limerick and Laois. Any items donated, no matter how big or small, are hugely appreciated. As with many organisations across the country, the charity retail sector is going through a very challenging time at present so help is urgently needed. Read more »
