Gorta scholarship student named 'best farmer'
In 2004-2005 with the support of Gorta, Salome Ojiambo completed a certificate in sustainable agriculture and rural development at Baraka Agricultural College in western Kenya. Since completing her course, Salome, a married mother of five, has become recognised in her area for her work. Read more »

Update on Progress in West Nile Region of Uganda
Gorta's support to the West Nile region of Uganda dates back over ten years. 1.9 million people in West Nile enjoy a standard of living only half the level of the national average. Because of this, the West Nile Development Initiative (WENDI) was formulated between Gorta and Ugandan partner organisation AFARD. Read more »

Climate Countdown - Six months to Copenhagen
Gorta is part of the Stop Climate Chaos coalition which will be holding an event on Saturday, June 13th. Join us on Sandymount Beach in Dublin for fun and games… …AND a mass choreographed event to create a giant human hourglass!
