United Against Hunger: gorta World Food Day Conference 2010
The 30th annual World Food Day organized by the United Nations Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) took place globally on 16th of October 2010. As the Irish affiliate to the organisation, the annual gorta World Food Day Conference took place on Friday 15th October in The Gresham Hotel in Dublin. The event draws attention to the critical global hunger situation and the fact that almost 1,000,000,000 people suffer chronic hunger worldwide. The theme of the conference was ‘United Against Hunger: How to Feed a Billion People’ and coincided with the International Day of Rural Women. Read more »
