Stop Climate Chaos Demonstration - success on the strand

The Stop Climate Chaos event was a huge success on Saturday June 13th, with over 1,000 people taking part in the human hourglass demonstration on Sandymount Strand.
Climate campaigners were calling on the government to take stronger action against climate as they held up red and blue papers to create an impactful visual effect.
The event was organized by the Stop Climate Chaos coalition, of which Gorta is a member, to demonstrate that time is running out to agree a new global treaty on climate change.
It is now just six months until a deal is due to be signed by world leaders at a summit in Copenhagen.
We would like to take the opportunity to thank all those who attended the event and helped attract publicity to the campaign.
